The Romanian broadcaster launched its national selection site for the 2006 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. After Belgium and Norway, Romania is the third country making official announcements over its national selection. TVR announced the submission deadline for kids wanting to participate in the national selection. This year is more than important for Romanian television to participate with a good song. The reason is that Bucharest is hosting the 4th edition of the contest. The preliminary selection of national final participants will tkae place on May 10. National final is set for June 1.
Despite been a favourite, 2005 entrant Alina Eremia came 5th in Hasselt last year. Belarus might have won but the spotlight is on Romania this year. You can find the Junior Eurovision rules and information on TVR's website link of which is located at the end of the article. Bucharest organization will be very interesting. Off the record some TVR sources told us the show will be excellent. But still Belgium made an excellent job and we are already waiting TVR to do much more. Good Luck Romania!
