That list is just crap. No truth in it whatsever.
oikotimes got it from here http://eschungary.extra.hu/news/2007/rotterdam2007_korai.html and look what they put for their source "en.wikipedia.org"
Only thing I can say is that, if it is true Lithuania will participate, then the Lithuanian final is on 27th May or maybe the week after that.

I'm wondering whats going on with Lithuania? I don't doubt that they will be entering this year but is this (http://www.lrt.lt/ringas/index.php) really is the show to select the participant.... the kids don't even sing their own songs...
Because the semi-finals are supposed to start next week

Apparently Svante Stockselius said in a press conference recently that there will be 19 countries in JESC this year, including the return of Poland, but they may not return until 2008. Also the UK may be back.

I think it was one of the semi-finals because I found this:
http://esckaz.com/jesc/2007/
Lithuania is confirmed new entrant in Junior Eurovision 2007. National selection will take part during the show Young Stars Ring and will have 4 semifinals: on May 6, 13, 20 and 27. The date of national final has not yet been set.

Seems like Armenia already have choosed theyr finalist?
| Quote: | | "Junior Eurovision" is very important project for us. This year we will debut in the competition. As main candidates we consider children from "Arevik" band: they are 12 years old, they write own songs (according to the rules of competition authors should be also children). Band consists of 6 persons - two vocalists (and songwriters), others perform backing vocals. They have written already 6 songs. It is much easier to work with these children than with adults. They are used to sing live, they dance, jump around the stage and at the same time have no vocal problems as they have already some professional training. They have already seen a world, used to long journeys, they are learning Enlgish, know how behave themselves, how to smile and speak with mass-media and listeners. These modern, European children should open "our door to Europe". Big role in their achievements is played by band tutors Armen and Naira Divanyan. The band is already known in Europe and in America: they can almost be considered professionals, and it is much better that Armenia will be represented for the first time by children who won't be afraid of public and responsibility. They are used to pressure. Contest will be held in December in the Netherlands, so we have enough time for preparations. Sometime in June we're expecting official regulations of the competition, as there usually are some changes compared to the previous years. And after that together with my colleagues and group of music professional we'll start training and by September we will be working on the song and arrangement. |
I think this is a site about it: www.arevik.net

I had an idea about Lithuania: maybe after the last semifinal then there will be a long break to give them a chance to write their own songs? Seems right since there is no date for the final yet..

| Quote: | IBA wants to join EDC and JESC in 2008
NRG.co.il reported today that Israeli national broadcaster is interested to enter the Eurovision Dance and Junior Eurovision Song Contest by 2008. There is a serious consideration by the Israeli broadcaster but even so in 2007 IBA will broadcast both contests. Unless something serious happens Yoav Ginay seems to have already the preparations and the proposals for the final details needed for the participation. |
